Today is My Birthday

Today is my Birthday. To celebrate I've invited over some women from the neighborhood and other Mom's from school for a coffee visit. No one who's coming over knows that it's my birthday.

Moving across country has been such an isolating experience for me that I felt like the way to best celebrate my birthday would be to do something bold and invite other people over into my world. My house, the center of my universe.

I'm nervous and excited about having grown-ups over. I hope I can remember how to have an in person conversation. Perhaps, while I'm getting the girl ready for school, I'll have to think of some topics of conversation that don't center around children and husbands. What is going on in the rest of the world anyway?
